The Senior Licensing Manager Opportunity

The Senior Licensing Manager (SLM) is responsible for identifying technologies with commercial applications, evaluating the commercial potential of technologies, identifying potential licensees, preparing non-confidential technical information for marketing purposes, developing and
implementing specific marketing strategies for each technology, and drafting and negotiating mid- to large-sized license agreements and other types of agreements including material transfer, collaboration, and nondisclosure agreements. Responsible for performing negotiations related to Intellectual Property (IP), as well as demonstrating valuation and IP business development. The IP portfolio may be in the fields of:

  • chemistry
  • engineering software
  • software
  • life sciences
  • medical devices
  • drug development
  • veterinary medicine
  • agriculture

The SLM is also responsible for the mentoring and support of licensing analysts, licensing managers, and student interns.

The ideal candidate will possess:

  • Two to five years’ experience in technology commercialization, licensing, business development or intellectual property management.
  • A Bachelor’s degree in a scientific field, such as engineering, chemistry, biology, animal science or plant science; advanced degree such as MS, MBA, JD or Ph.D. in a scientific field preferred.
  • Knowledge of science, business principles, laws and regulation that relate to the patenting, licensing and commercialization of inventions.
