This slidedeck was part of an Association of University Technology Managers (AUTM) professional development webinar focused on exploring a career in technology transfer. More than 100 people attended.
Technology transfer is a rapidly growing field as universities and companies alike begin to understand the necessity of a department that helps bridge the gap between these areas and helps them work together in order to bring technology, inventions, and ideas to the larger world for mutual benefit.
As you will see in the slides, the contributions universities have made to the world of start-ups is amazing. Thanks to companies like Facebook, most people imagine the technology start-up companies created by hoodie-wearing entrepreneurial college drop outs. In reality, colleges and universities give birth to a number of successful start-ups in their incubators.
